HOW TO USE:

1. Select Placement: For most effective watering, place 2–3 stakes around the base of the plant. For new plants, position the stakes outside the original root ball to encourage outward root growth. For established plants, place stakes close to the plant’s base but avoid direct contact with the main root ball.
2. Prepare for Installation: If your soil is extremely hard or rocky, consider using an auger to drill a pilot hole before inserting the stake.
3. Install the Stake: Using a rubber mallet or a 3–5 lb. sledgehammer, carefully pound the top cap of the stake into the ground until only the cap is visible or the stake is fully submerged. Ensure you are aware of any underground utilities before driving the stake.
4. Connect Water Source (Choose one):
   • Manual Watering (Garden Hose/Berm): Slowly allow water from a garden hose to flow down into the stake opening, or use a watering can. If using a tree berm, construct it around the plant to help contain water.
   • Automatic Drip System: Insert a standard 1/4″ drip line into the custom slot in the cap of the stake. The cap is designed to securely lock the drip line in place.
   • Flood Irrigation: The stakes will also work effectively with flood irrigation methods by allowing water to enter the internal chamber and flow to the roots.
5. Add Fertilizer (Optional): If desired, pour liquid or water-soluble granular fertilizer into the shaft of the stake to deliver nutrients directly to the root zone.
6. Repositioning: If you need to remove or reposition the stake, insert a screwdriver or a rod into the two holes near the top of the stake for leverage and pull it out.
