Description
Leigh designs these bits specifically to work with their line of dovetail jigs. They are made with high quality C2 and C3 micro grain carbide for long bit life. Each bit is honed to a fine edge with 600 grit diamond wheels for smooth, efficient routing. All shanks are 1-3/4″ long to handle the thickness of the finger assembly or accessory template. Leigh router bits are manufactured to ISO 9002 standards.
Shank Size
Most Leigh jigs come equipped with 8mm shank router bits. They offer 60% more shank strength compared to 1/4″ shank bits. That’s very important because the thickness of dovetail templates requires a longer shank bit. To use 8mm shanks, you will require a router with either an 8mm collet or a 1/2″ collet router with a1/2″ to 8mm collet reducer , which are supplied with most Leigh dovetail jigs.
