Description
Narex Richter 1/2″ (12mm) Mortise Chisel
Cryogenic treatment
Following initial hardening, cryogenic treatment rapidly cools steel with liquid nitrogen to a remarkable −190 °C. This innovative process completes the transformation of austenite (a soft phase in steel) into martensite (a harder phase), enhancing both hardness and toughness, ensuring every chisel withstands rigorous demands.
Honoring our founder, Mr. Vaclav Richter, these chisels embody the pinnacle of our craftsmanship. Unique materials, meticulous heat treatment, and precision machining come together to create a tool that any woodworker would be proud to own. Each chisel bears the RICHTER EXTRA mark—a symbol of quality.
