Iwasaki 8in Extra Fine Side Float
Referred to as joinery or plane maker floats, these files are a woodworkers dream for shaping, sculpting, easing hard edges & joinery tuning. They remove material quickly like a rasp, but leave a very clean surface finish like you’d get from a file.This file has cutting teeth only on one side and has “safe” edges (no teeth).
The curved teeth are arranged like a single cut file, but with the face of each tooth shaped like a mini-chipbreaker. The wood shaving breaks off & is forced up & away from the face of the file so the teeth are less prone to clog. The tailings created are not dust, but ultra mini-shavings & look as if they came from a tiny plane! The teeth are sharp & hard for efficient cutting & long life. Besides cutting standard woods, they can be used on bamboo, OSB, MDF, plastics & resins.All files have safe edges (no teeth on the edges) & are perfect for detailing up to an adjacent surface you don’t want to cut.
