HOW TO USE:
- Power On: Press the green power button. The AED will begin to provide voice prompts.
- Expose Chest: Quickly remove or cut away the patient’s clothing to expose the bare chest.
- Apply Electrodes:
- Peel the QUIK-STEP™ electrodes directly off their base.
- Follow the diagrams on the electrode pads to place them correctly on the patient’s bare chest: one pad goes on the upper right chest, below the collarbone; the other pad goes on the lower left side of the chest, below the armpit.
- Analyze Heart Rhythm: Once the pads are attached, the AED will automatically analyze the patient’s heart rhythm. Stand clear and do not touch the patient.
- Deliver Shock (Automatic): If a shockable rhythm is detected, the AED will announce that a shock will be delivered and will automatically deliver the shock. Ensure everyone remains clear of the patient during the shock.
- CPR Coaching: After the shock (or if no shock is advised), the AED will provide prompts and a metronome to guide you through cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Follow the instructions for chest compressions and rescue breaths. The cprINSIGHT™ technology will analyze the rhythm during pauses in compressions, if any are needed.
- Continue as Directed: Continue to follow the voice prompts from the AED until emergency medical services (EMS) arrive and take over.
