HOW TO USE:
- Prepare the System: Ensure the hybrid vehicle’s A/C system is accessible and you have the necessary safety equipment, including a UV leak detection light and amber glasses, ready for post-injection inspection.
- Connect the Hose: Attach the R-134a low-side connect hose/coupler (TP-9847) to the low-side service port of the vehicle’s A/C system.
- Insert Dye Cartridge: Open one of the moisture-resistant foil pouches and carefully insert a single-dose Tracer-Stick® Hybrid/Ester dye cartridge (TP3811-P3) into the clear tube of the injection hose.
- Connect to Refrigerant Source: Connect the service fitting (107472) to your gauge manifold or A/C recovery/recharge unit’s R-134a line.
- Purge Air (if necessary): Use the purge capsule (123559) and purge fitting to remove any air from the hose assembly before introducing it to the A/C system.
- Inject Dye and Refrigerant: Slowly open the valve on the low-side coupler to allow the A/C system’s vacuum or refrigerant pressure to draw in the dye from the cartridge, followed by the refrigerant. The dye and refrigerant are injected simultaneously in one step.
- Run A/C System: Once injected, run the vehicle’s A/C system for a minimum of 15–20 minutes to allow the dye to circulate thoroughly throughout the system.
