Veritas Twin-Screw Vise

This vise’s chain drive system ensures that the jaws stay parallel, eliminating the racking common in other vises.It operates from either side, and a spring loaded lock pin disengages the chain for controlled skewing to equalize pressure on slightly out-of-square work.This vise is an easy retrofit to an existing bench, requiring only an end cap drilled for the vise nut & fixing bolts, plus the vise jaw itself.

The vise is set for a standard screw spacing of 16-7/8″ on center, but you can place the screws closer together by cutting down the chain cover and removing links from the chain. (If you prefer wider screw spacing, you’ll need to add theExtension Kit. It allows screw spacing up to 24″.)Two vise screws with handles & speed cranks, nuts, chain cover & installation hardware are included with instructions. Maximum jaw opening is 12″. Wooden jaw liners are not included.

For calculating end clearance for bench legs, the full length of vise screws, including rear spindle nut and front tee is 21-1/4″(540 mm).
