HOW TO USE:
- Prepare the Mounting Location: Ensure you have a 2.67″ (68mm) diameter hole in your desired mounting location on the dashboard or instrument panel.
- Connect Power: Connect the positive (+) wire of the tachometer to a switched 12V power source in your vehicle. Connect the negative (-) or ground wire to a reliable ground point on the vehicle’s chassis.
- Connect Illumination (Optional): If desired, connect the illumination wire (if present on the tachometer) to your vehicle’s dash lighting circuit so the gauge lights up with your other instruments.
- Connect the Tachometer Signal Wire: Locate the negative (-) terminal of your engine’s ignition coil or the designated tachometer output wire from your vehicle’s ECU (Engine Control Unit). Connect the signal wire from the Speedhut tachometer to this terminal or wire. Consult your vehicle’s wiring diagram for the correct connection point.
- Mount the Tachometer: Insert the tachometer into the prepared 2.67″ hole. Secure it from the back using the included gauge mounting ring. Tighten the ring until the gauge is firmly in place.
- Test the Tachometer: Start your vehicle’s engine. The tachometer needle should now indicate the engine’s RPM. Verify that the readings are consistent and respond accurately to changes in engine speed.
