HOW TO USE:

  1. Drill the Hole: Use a 29/64″ drill bit to create a properly sized hole in the material you wish to thread. Ensure the hole is straight and perpendicular to the surface.
  2. Align the Tap: Place the tap in a tap wrench and align it with the drilled hole. The tap must be held perfectly straight to start the threading process correctly.
  3. Start Threading: Apply downward pressure and slowly turn the tap clockwise. It is crucial to start the tap straight to avoid creating crooked threads.
  4. Advance the Tap: After a few turns, continue to turn the tap clockwise, and the tap will begin to bite into the material. For every two turns forward, make a quarter-turn back to break off chips and prevent them from clogging the flutes.
  5. Complete the Thread: Continue this process until the desired thread depth is reached. Once finished, slowly turn the tap counter-clockwise to back it out of the hole, clearing any remaining chips.
