Drillco 336E520B 52mm x 5.0 Carbon Hex Re-Thread Die is a precision hexagonal rethreading die designed for restoring large metric threads on bolts, rods, and other threaded components. Manufactured from high carbon steel with general purpose high-speed steel (HSS) cutting edges, it provides reliable durability and efficient cutting. The extra-thick construction ensures strength and stability during rethreading, while the staggered tooth design reduces chip buildup for smooth operation. This die is intended for rethreading damaged or jammed threads only and is not suitable for cutting new threads on unthreaded materials. It features a black oxide surface treatment to enhance wear resistance, a self-centering 135° split-point to reduce thrust and minimize walking, and a shorter screw machine length that adds rigidity to prevent breakage. The round shank fits standard tap wrenches and is suitable for both through-hole and blind-hole repairs.
