This dual-function gauge displays both the amperage of the motor and its operating temperature, providing crucial data for optimizing efficiency and ensuring the longevity of your EV’s powertrain. With a clear 4-inch display and seamless integration into your vehicle’s existing systems, this gauge is an essential tool for any EV enthusiast or owner looking to stay informed about their vehicle’s vital statistics. The added safety of a built-in warning light for high motor temperatures provides an extra layer of protection and awareness.
KEY FEATURES AND BENEFITS:
- Dual Measurement: Simultaneously monitors both motor amperage (ranging from -200 to 1200 amps, allowing observation of both power draw and regenerative braking) and motor temperature (ranging from 0 to 80 degrees Celsius).
- CAN-Bus Integration: Designed to integrate directly with your EV’s CAN-Bus system operating at a 500K baud rate, ensuring accurate and immediate data readings without the need for extensive separate sensors.
- Overheat Warning: Features an integrated warning light that activates when the motor temperature exceeds 70 degrees Celsius, providing a timely alert to potential overheating issues.
- Clear Metric Display: Presents temperature readings in Celsius, a widely understood unit for thermal measurement.
- Complete Wiring Solution: Ships with all necessary harnesses for installation, including an EV CAN Harness, an EV CAN Jumper Harness, and a 3 ft Power & Lighting Harness for the gauge’s illumination.
SPECIFICATIONS:
- Gauge Type: Dual Gauge (Ampere & Temperature)
- Signal Type: CAN-Bus (500K baud rate)
- Amp Range: -200 to 1200 Amps
- Temperature Range: 0 to 80 degrees Celsius
- Size: 4 inches (diameter)
- Hole Size: 3.93 inches (100mm)
- Units: Metric (Celsius for Temperature)
- Warning Light Trigger: Activates above 70 degrees Celsius (Motor Temperature)
- Included: EV CAN Harness, EV CAN Jumper Harness, 3 ft Power & Lighting Harness
HOW TO USE:
- Connect the EV CAN Harness: Plug the provided EV CAN Harness into the designated CAN-Bus port within your electric vehicle’s wiring system. Refer to your vehicle’s service manual for the exact location and connection procedure.
- Connect the EV CAN Jumper Harness: Utilize the EV CAN Jumper Harness to bridge the connection between the main CAN-Bus line and the gauge’s CAN input, ensuring proper data flow.
- Connect the Power and Lighting Harness: Attach the 3 ft Power & Lighting Harness to a suitable power source in your vehicle (typically a switched 12V supply) and to the gauge’s power and illumination terminals. This harness will power the gauge’s operation and its LED backlighting.
- Mount the Gauge: Insert the 4-inch gauge into a 3.93-inch (100mm) diameter hole in your desired location on the dashboard or instrument panel. Secure it using the integrated mounting mechanism.
- Verify Operation: Once all connections are made, turn on your vehicle. The gauge should power up and display real-time readings for both the motor’s amperage and temperature. Observe if the warning light illuminates when the motor temperature exceeds 70°C (if the motor is already above this temperature).
