Our Krenov-style plane kit by Hock Tools is a fast and simple way to build your own wooden hand plane so you can begin to enjoy the pleasure of planing wood by hand. Included in the kit are the front and rear plane body sections, side panels, wedge, dowels and one of the excellent Hock plane irons with cap iron. The body parts are carefully milled from Jatoba wood and come ready to assemble. You need only furnish a drill, some clamps, glue, a knife to adjust the throat, sandpaper to true the sole, and some means to sharpen the plane iron. Although it’s an easy project to build even for a novice, an experienced woodworker will also appreciate the quality and performance of a plane made from this kit.
The iron that comes in the kit is 1-1/2 inches in width.The body of the plane is approximately 11 inches long.
